Whereas most MMOGs typically feature relatively slow-paced, "turn-based" combat, an MMOFPS requires a high degree of hand-eye coordination and twitch-based skills.
MMOFPS development is dilatory due to the many variables involved with the genre. Compromising balance between financial support, bandwidth and the demanding framerates needed by the genre cap off developmental progress, particularly with independent developers.
