The Maxim Gun Company was founded by Hiram Maxim in order to produce his Maxim Gun, the world's first automaticaly loading machine gun.  In 1888 the company merged with 'Nordenfelt Guns and Ammunition Company', becoming 'Nordenfelt-Maxim Company'. More
