Mdewakantonwan (currently pronounced Medawákhaŋtoŋ) are one of the sub-tribes of the Isanti (Santee) Dakota (Sioux). Their ancestral home is Mille Lacs Lake in central Minnesota, which in the Dakota language was called mde wakan (mystic/spiritual lake).
