Mega Man III, known as Rockman World 3 (ロックマンワールド3, Rokkuman Wārudo Surī) in Japan, is the third video game in the portable Game Boy version of the Mega Man series. The game follows the adventures of Mega Man as he fights the evil Dr. Wily, who has been using a converted oil platform in the middle of the ocean, hoping to use power from the earth's core to power a new machine. This is the only original Game Boy series Mega Man game where Wily does not have an orbiting fortress satellite as his final hideout.
As in previous Game Boy games, the gameplay is largely the same: Mega Man fights four Robot Masters from its NES counterpart (in this case Mega Man 3), and later access Dr. Wily's fortress where he must fight another four bosses from the following game (Mega Man 4) before confronting new adversaries, and finally Dr. Wily himself.
