Prior to Mega Man V, Mega Man games on Game Boy featured four Robot Masters from their titular NES counterpart, as well as four Robot Masters from the succeeding NES game in the series (for example, Mega Man II for the Game Boy features four Robot Masters from the NES version of Mega Man 2, as well as four Robot Masters from the NES version Mega Man 3).
