The film begins with a cold open as Caine and his best friend O-Dog enter a local store to buy two bottles of malt liquor as the Korean storekeeper and his wife eye them suspiciously. The couple repeatedly exhorts them to pay and leave, even as O-Dog and Caine approach the register to do so.
