Metropolis Gold featured an all-star production lineup, including many prominent New York producers such as DJ Premier, Pete Rock, Rockwilder, DJ Clark Kent, Hitmen member Ron "Amen-Ra" Lawrence, and EZ Elpee. The album featured the hit DJ Premier-produced single "The Actual", as well as the singles "Who Dat" and "The Hot Joint".
