Sir Michael Parkinson, CBE (born 28 March 1935) is an English broadcaster and journalist. He presented his interview programme, Parkinson, from 1971 to 1982 and from 1998 to 2007. Parkinson, or "Parky" as he is known, was born in the coal mining village of Cudworth in the South Yorkshire Coalfield, near Barnsley, South Yorkshire.
