She is bisexual and left Frank for a lorry driver named Norma. She returned home at the beginning of series 4 and has resumed sleeping with Frank, although her motives are as yet unknown. Norma followed her and took up residence in the Gallaghers' old Dormobile.
When Sheila left Frank after he accidentally revealed he was still legally married to Monica, he quickly decided to make an effort to reconcile with Monica.
Monica announced in 2008 series 5 that she was pregnant again.
In episode 5.3, it was revealed that Monica is pregnant.
