MontBleu Resort Casino & Spa, located in Stateline, Nevada, is owned and operated by Tropicana Entertainment, a division of Columbia Sussex. The property includes a 40,000 sq ft (3,700 m) casino and a 437 room hotel on a 21 acre site. Montbleu is home to the AAA 4 Diamond Award Winning restaurant Ciera Steak + Chophouse.
The hotel first opened as the Park Tahoe, built by Park Cattle Co. in 1978, then ground leased to Caesars by 1980. In line with the Caesars name, the property was remodeled with a Roman theme.
Caesars Tahoe was sold by Caesars Entertainment in June 2005 to Columbia Sussex for $45 million. The sale was part of a series of sales made by Harrah's Entertainment and Caesars to avoid anti-trust issues with their proposed merger. Columbia Sussex announced plans on October 11, 2005 to rename Caesars Tahoe to the MontBleu Resort Casino & Spa which happened on May 24, 2006.
MontBleu and the nearby Horizon appeared as the Nomad Hotel in the 2007 film Smokin' Aces.
