Monte Viso, colloquially known as Monviso (Piedmontese: Brich Monviso or Viso; Occitan: Vísol), is a mountain in the Cottian Alps in Italy close to the French border. Monte Viso is well known for its pyramid-like shape and since it surmounts all its neighbouring peaks by at least about 500 m it can be seen from far away, from the Piedmontese plateau and the Langhe.
