The academic program is college preparatory and 100% of the seniors are accepted into various 4-year colleges each year. The school is owned and operated by the Central California Conference of Seventh-day Adventists. Monterey Bay Academy is accredited by the Western Association of Schools and Colleges and by the Adventist Accreditation Association.
