Mount Boardman is a mountain located in the Diablo Range in California. Mount Boardman is a mountain located in the Diablo Range in California. The peak, located on a border junction consisting of Santa Clara, Alameda, Stanislaus, and San Joaquin counties, rises to an elevation of 3,618 feet (1,103 m). The mountain has a subpeak called Mount Boardman North or Alsan Peak, which rises to 3,626 feet (1,105 m), an elevation higher than the main peak. The north peak, unnamed on topographic maps, is located on the Alameda-San Joaquin county border, and thus, the subpeak is the county highpoint of San Joaquin County. Some snow falls on both peaks during the winter. According to 1868 survey notes from William F. Boardman, the North peak should be named after San Joaquin county surveyor John Wallace, brother of famed naturalist Alfred Russell Wallace, and the true location of Mount Wallace, the highest point in San Joaquin County.
