"Mr. Monk and the Billionaire Mugger" is an episode of Monk. Billionare Sydney Teal drove into San Francisco, put on a fake mustache and black sweater, and hid behind a dumpster before he jumped out holding a knife pointed at a man and a woman leaving the theater. Teal bellowed, "Give me your money. Don't be a hero." Teal appeared to be a mugger. Then Archie Modine, the man, pulled out a gun and killed Teal in apparent self-defense firing three shots into Teal's chest. Many witnesses backed up Modine's story. The woman with Modine claimed she saw a cop bolting from the scene of the crime. The press quickly latched onto the story dubbing the runaway cop, "Fraidy Cop". Meanwhile Stottlemeyer called in Monk because there were facts that made no sense, i.e. Teal's body was found protected by elbow-pads and knee-pads, which would not be needed for a mugging and because Teal was a billionaire.
