Mr. Monk and the Very, Very Old Man is a season two episode in the popular television series "Monk", and is episode 17 in the series. As the elderly residents of the Malden Retirement Home in the San Francisco suburb of Malden relax after dinner, just down the hall, Miles Holling (Patrick Cranshaw), who is the world's oldest man and just one day shy of his 115th birthday, is being suffocated by a shadowy figure wearing a security guard's uniform. Captain Stottlemeyer's wife Karen (Glenne Headly), who once profiled Holling in a documentary film she made just five years earlier, suspects that the elderly man's death was no accident. But Captain Stottlemeyer, citing Holling's age, believes he likely died of natural causes. Monk is brought in to settle the dispute, and he agrees with Karen. Among other clues: They take their findings to the City of Malden Mayor Lloyd Quincy (Jim Jansen) who authorizes the exhumation in spite of the objections of his deputy Dennis Gammill (Kurt Fuller).... less
