Murray Davies is a Welsh author and journalist. Born and bred in South Wales where his father was a miner, he won a scholarship to UCW Aberystwyth where he complete a degree in International Politics and an MA in First World War poetry. Thinking he wanted to write, he went into journalism, worked for the Daily Mail and Mirror Group as a reporter and feature writer, where amongst his Fleet Street claims to fame were being the holder of the Longest Lunch Award and exclusively interviewing Russian cannibal killer Andrei Chikatilo on death row. After twenty years Davies realized that journalism and writing were not the same thing and bailed out to write novels. Davies currently lives with his life partner in Wiltshire. His book Collaborator won the Sidewise Award for Alternate History. His other works are The Devils Handshake , Dogs on the Street, Samson Option and The Drumbeat Of Jimmy Sands.
