"My First Kill" is the 72nd episode of the American sitcom Scrubs. It originally aired on September 21, 2004. J.D. asks Dr. Cox to give his residents a pep talk as some of them are feeling overwhelmed. Dr. Cox tells them that they will definitely end up accidentally killing a patient through negligence sooner or later. This leads J.D. to wonder if he himself has ever killed anyone. Meanwhile, Elliot tries to convince Turk to allow a patient to have an organ transplant despite being a recovering drug addict. Elliot appeals to the hospital board who rule in her favour. J.D. becomes paralyzed with fear and ceases giving his patients any procedures which might risk their lives. Dr. Cox explains to J.D. that fear is good and will make J.D. a good doctor if he can learn not to let it get on top of him.
