Soon after Page Kennedy was let go on the ABC series, Desperate Housewives, Kearse served as Kennedy's replacement for the role of Caleb Applewhite, a fugitive who is being held captive in his mother's basement (Alfre Woodard).
Prior to Desperate Housewives, Kearse had roles in Taxi, Marci X, Cross Bronx and as a voice on the video game, Grand Theft Auto: San Andreas. Kearse co-starred in the 2007 film My Brother alongside Vanessa L. Williams.
Nashawn was born and raised in Brooklyn, New York and shares a 12 year old son with Wendy Pastor.
