The National Gay and Lesbian Task Force (The Task Force) is an organization working for the civil rights of lesbian, gay, bisexual and transgender (LGBT) people in the United States. It was founded in 1973 in New York. It is the oldest national LGBT rights organization in the United States. The current executive director is Rea Carey.
