Swardson was born in Minneapolis, Minnesota, the son of Pamela and Roger Swardson. Before he started working closely with Adam Sandler and Sandler's Happy Madison Productions, he was a stand up comedian in Minneapolis and performed regularly at the Minneapolis ComedySportz. He was recognized by Adam Sandler when Sandler watched him perform in his first Comedy Central Special. Sandler called him up, and invited him out to Los Angeles where the two have been writing movies, tv pilots, stand up comedy, and audio skits since.
