Nikolai Brashman

Nikolai Dmitrievich Brashman (June 14, 1796 – May 13, 1866) was a Russian mathematician of Czech origin. He was a student of Joseph Johann Littrow, and the advisor of Pafnuty Chebyshev. He was born in Rassnova (near Brno, today in Czech Republic) and studied at the University of Vienna and Vienna Polytechnic Institute.
