Nikolay Kirov

Nikolay Ivanovich Kirov (Николай Иванович Киров; born 22 November 1957 in Streshin, Homel, Belarus) was a Soviet athlete who mainly competed in the men's 800 metres. He competed for Soviet Union at the 1980 Summer Olympics held in Moscow, Soviet Union where he won the bronze medal in the men's 800 metres event behind British duo Seb Coe and Steve Ovett. Kirov claimed the silver medal in the same event at the 1982 European Championships.
