Non-gonococcal urethritis (NGU) is an inflammation of the urethra which is not caused by gonorrheal infection. For treatment purposes, doctors usually classify infectious urethritis in two categories: gonococcocal urethritis, caused by gonorrhea; and non-gonococcal urethritis (NGU).
