Oak Crest Middle School is a middle school in Encinitas, California. The school teaches grades 7 and 8, and it is a member of the San Dieguito Union High School District.
Oak Crest offers several electives, such as CE SMART, Introduction to Multimedia, Spanish, Studio Art, TV broadcasting, band, journalism, and drama. Students are allowed to choose any of these electives, which last either one semester or a whole year. There are also several electives that require application such as leadership, advanced drama, TV broadcasting, Journalism and student assistant (8th grade only). Oak crest also offers classes like algebra topics, pre-algebra topics, and AVID which replace electives in order for extra tutoring.
Every Friday the TV broadcasting class gives a news report called "The Wave Live" It includes a list of events currently happening at the school, the week's character counts winners, and a weather report.
