The students are taken on a survival training expedition by Mr. Moleguaco. Some of the students are undertaking underwater survival, Kavo and the cheerleaders are in lava training, and Kuzco, Malina and Kronk are in jungle training. This involves spending 24 hours in the jungle without provisions. After Mr. Molguaco leaves, Kronk begins to panic, until he realises that he is a Junior Chipmunk. Although his tent-making skills leave room for improvement.
Kuzco raises Malina's suspicions when he produces a wheelbarrow full of items such as pillows. Malina and Kronk follow him to a secret cave - the Emergency Emperor Bunker. The interior is filled with luxury items, including a ping pong table and a hot tub. Malina convinces Kuzco to join her and Kronk in the wild.
