Oscar is also openly gay after being involuntarily outed by his boss, Michael Scott. Because of his sexual orientation, Oscar is seen as an advisor by the insecure males in the office, a task which Oscar is very reluctant to do. Oscar is calm, intelligent, and hard-working, though occasionally weary of his boss. He is also quite reserved, not really exhibiting the want for close contact with any of his co-workers, although he is actually friendly.
