A man named Jahn Gonsalves founded the Comic Relief band now called Parokya ni Edgar. Naming themselves Edgar ni Parokya, the band originally consisted of three vocalists - Alfonso "Chito" Miranda, Jr., Jeric Estaco, Francis Vincent "Vinci" Montaner, and two guitarists, Miko Yap and Gabriel Ignatius "Gab" Chee Kee. They honed their musical skills through after-school jamming, before performing an opening number for an Eraserheads concert.
