Following the success of Rocky (1976), Party at Kitty and Stud's was re-released under the titles Italian Stallion (taken from Stallone's nickname in Rocky) and Cocky (a spoof of Rocky), designed to cash in on Stallone's new fame. In a prologue included with this re-release version, and in the film's new trailer, porn director Gail Palmer sat by an editing machine addressing the audience, implying that the original film was hardcore pornography, but that the material had now been edited into a milder version.
