Peter Hansborough Bell

Peter Hansborough Bell (May 12, 1812 – March 8, 1898) was the 3rd Governor of Texas from 1849 to 1853. He also served two terms as a United States Representative from Texas' 2nd Congressional District. Bell County is named in his honor. There is a Peter Bell statue at the county courthouse in Belton, Texas, near Temple.
