Paterson and Cooper replaced Iain Stewart and Paul Mathers, who were sacked on 29 October 2006. Their record signing was Goalkeeper Allan Methven for a fee of £30,000 from Dumbarton F.C.
Peterhead's traditional rivals are the Highland League team Fraserburgh, however since their election to the Scottish Football League, this rivalry has waned somewhat.
