When BART officially opened the extension to the San Francisco International Airport on June 22, 2003, this line bypassed the airport and went straight to Millbrae; only the Dublin/Pleasanton Line served the airport's station. In order to attract more riders, BART truncated the Dublin/Pleasanton Line back to Daly City on February 9, 2004, in favor of the Pittsburg/Bay Point Line, which generally carried more passengers.
