In this first episode, we meet the students of Jacqueline Kennedy High School.
We meet Samanatha "Sam" McPherson, an unpopular, intelligent, school journalist and her friends: Harrison John, Lily Esposito, and Carmen Ferrara. And then we are introduced to the popular ones: Brooke McQueen, the head cheerleader, Nicole Julian (aka the Devil), Josh Ford, Brooke's boyfriend and captain of the school football team, Mary Cherry, a popular but psychotic Texan girl worth millions, and Sugar Daddy. The unpopular and the popular people detest each other.
But, to both groups' demise, Brooke and Sam are paired to be each other's biology lab partners and must put up with each other. Unpopular Carmen, Sam' friend, decides to try out for the cheerleading squad, an elite group of the popular ones. Carmen, however does not make it because she is apparently too fat.
