Many have disagreed about how much the religious content is emphasized. With some viewers it has been an issue; however, the majority of people (both LDS and not) claim that the religion is extremely downplayed. Most agree that it is one of the least actively religious films of the LDS genre.
The production studio that put out the film thought it was too religious when it was released in theatres. After the film finished its theatrical run, it was modified and several of the more 'overt' references were removed (such as changing 'Sister Bennet' to 'Miss Bennet') to give the movie more...
