He is second in line, after his father, to the former throne of Greece. As a member of a deposed royal family who was born after his grandfather ceased to rule, his title of Prince of Greece is not recognized by the Greek Republic as the Greek Constitution does not recognise noble titles. Prince Constantine Alexios is also not a Greek citizen, as the Royal Family lost their citizenship following a referendum which abolished the Greek monarchy. His title of Prince of Denmark is recognised in Denmark, but when referenced, both titles are used.
