Rafael Baptista Rabello (October 31, 1962 - April 27, 1995), was a virtuoso Brazilian guitarist and composer.

Rafael Baptista Rabello (October 31, 1962 - April 27, 1995), was a virtuoso Brazilian guitarist and composer.
Rabello was born in a musical family: his sister Luciana made a name for herself on the cavaquinho (Brazilian soprano guitar), and his first guitar teacher was an older brother. Eventually he moved to private lessons with Jaime Florence (the famous "Meyra", who had also taught Baden Powell in the 1940s). He switched to the Brazilian seven-string guitar influenced by Dino 7 Cordas. He was playing professionally by his teens. His first participation as a sideman was at age 14 on a recording of choros by classical guitarist Turibio Santos.
Rabello had lessons with the legendary guitarist Dino 7 Cordas (Dino 7 strings), with whom he recorded an LP in 1991. Rabello also played the 7-string guitar and, for a while, adopted the name Raphael 7 Strings (also the name of his first record).
