Revival of Evangelion (Revival of Evangelion: Death(true)²/Air/まごころを、君に, Revival of Evangelion: Death(true)²/Air/Magokoro o, Kimi ni) is a unification of the 1997 Neon Genesis Evangelion movies Death(true) and The End of Evangelion. It is considered the final form of the Evangelion movies, which were released in several forms prior to Revival.
The first part of the compilation, Death, was originally released as part of Evangelion: Death and Rebirth which itself consisted of two parts. Death consists of a 60-minute edit of the Neon Genesis Evangelion television show, including redone scenes and several new scenes. The version used in Revival, called Death(true)² is a re-editing of Death without the new scenes (which were added to the Director's Cut of the television series) and a few minor changes. The second half, Rebirth, consisted of the first part of The End of Evangelion and therefore is an early unfinished version of the second Evangelion movie.
