Revolution is a 1985 film, directed by Hugh Hudson, written by Robert Dillon and starring Al Pacino, Donald Sutherland, Nastassja Kinski, Joan Plowright, Dave King, Annie Lennox, Steven Berkoff, Graham Greene, and Robbie Coltrane.
The film stars Al Pacino as a New York fur trapper during the American Revolutionary War.
The film was produced by the British company Goldcrest, and was filmed largely in the old dock area of the English port town of King's Lynn.
Revolution was one of three major box office failures (together with The Mission and Absolute Beginners) credited with a decline in the company's fortunes. The movie, although costing $28 million to make, proved a box-office disaster, and only grossed $346,761 domestically. It currently holds a rating of 8% critical approval at rottentomatoes. It was also nominated for 4 Razzie Awards. Al Pacino's film career subsequently went into a four-year hiatus until 1989's Sea of Love (film).
