He appears in the prequels Metal Gear Solid 3: Snake Eater (MGS3) and Metal Gear Solid: Portable Ops (MPO) as a young Spetsnaz Major, where he is identified simply as Ocelot, and eventually becomes Liquid Ocelot (リキッド・オセロット) in Metal Gear Solid 4: Guns of the Patriots (MGS4).
