Richard Pryce Matthews is the Republican Party candidate for Congress in Maryland's 2nd congressional district. He is facing two-term incumbent, Democrat Dutch Ruppersberger in the 2008 congressional election. Matthews, a 27-year-old computer systems engineer from Orchard Beach, is making his first congressional run. He is also the Anne Arundel County, Maryland organizer for the Ron Paul 2008 Presidential campaign.
Matthews was born in Baltimore, Maryland and raised in nearby Arnold, Maryland. He attended Broadneck High School, where he graduated in 1998.
Matthews is a computer network & security engineer with multiple industry certifications. He is best known for his work on the network at the 2004 G8 Summit in Sea Island, Georgia.
