Robert G. Abboud (born 1956) is an Arab American politician in Illinois, Village President of four-county Barrington Hills since 2005, who was re-elected on April 7, 2009. Earlier he served as Village Trustee, elected in 2001. Abboud was born in Boston, Massachusetts, and moved with his family to Barrington Hills when he was four. He received a Bachelor of Science degree in Nuclear Engineering from Purdue University. He was accepted into the United States Navy Submarine Nuclear Weapons program, but chose to support energy/advanced nuclear reactor development at Argonne National Laboratory.
