Robert J. Rivet is Executive Vice President and Chief Financial Officer of AMD. In this capacity, he reports to Hector

Rivet joined AMD in 2000 as senior
vice president and chief financial officer. Immediately prior to
joining AMD, Rivet served as senior vice president and director of
finance of the Semiconductor Products Sector of Motorola. The
Semiconductor Business Sector is Motorola’s second-largest business
segment, with more than $8 billion in sales and 34,000 employees
worldwide.
A 24-year veteran of Motorola, Rivet has
extensive experience in the semiconductor industry, having served in a
number of positions in Motorola semiconductor operations since 1981.
Rivet joined Motorola in 1976 as an accountant with the Corporate
Accounting Department in Schaumburg, Illinois.
Rivet
received a bachelor's degree in accounting from Northern Illinois
University, his C.P.A. from the University of Illinois, and an M.B.A.
from the University of Texas at Austin.
Rivet and his wife, Cynthia, live in Austin, Texas, and are the parents of two children, Scott and Lauren.
