Millar previously played for eight seasons with Chilean club Huachipato where he scored 47 goals in 170 games. After Huachipato Millar moved to Colo-Colo, where he never was a regular with the starting eleven. Subsequently in January 2008 Millar was linked to Israeli club F.C. Ashdod and even left Chile for Israel. After the deal fell through, Millar attempted to return to Colo-Colo. He was not accepted back and was loaned to Colombian team Once Caldas. He returned to Colo-Colo for the Clausura 2008 and did find continuity in the starting lineup playing. He even scored the 3-1 goal in the final match of the tournament against Palestino. Due his performances in Colo-Colo he was called for the national team in the beginning of 2009 for a match against Honduras.
