Founded in 1885 by New England Congregationalists who sought to bring their style of liberal arts education to what was then the Florida frontier, Rollins is the oldest university in the state of Florida. Today, it has more than 1,700 undergraduate students. Its 70-acre (280,000 m) campus contains a range of amenities, including a theater for performing arts, the Cornell Campus Center, and the Alfond Sports Center.
