The school's official motto is "Do Ut Des", meaning "I give that you may give" in Latin.
Rydens School runs several drama productions throughout the school year, including school musical, A straight play and a leaver's play for students who are in years 11 and 13, which is rehearsed and performaed in a limited time period of 3 weeks. Also a 'stars in their eyes' themed music night is run , with the winner picked by a selection of judges (Simon Cowell appeared as one). All productions are run annually.
