Before March 2006 GoByBus was known as Säfflebussen, but when acquired by the Norwegian bus company Nettbuss the name was changed.
Swedish media has criticized GoByBus for speeding, citing pressure on drivers to keep their time tables as a contributing factor . Also in 2006, at 17 occasions, drivers where arrested for drunk driving. Three of those drivers had been caugth twice and one driver had been caught three times, according to a report from the Swedish Traffic Authority Vägverket
