Sam Wood

Samuel Grosvenor (Sam) Wood (July 10, 1883, Philadelphia – September 22, 1949) was an American film director. He also undertook some production, writing, and to a lesser extent, acting work. Wood worked for Cecil B. De Mille as an assistant in 1915. A solo director by 1919, Wood worked throughout the 1920s directing some of Paramount Pictures's biggest stars, among them Gloria Swanson and Wallace Reid.
