Ronson was born in London and raised in St John's Wood. When Ronson was aged six her parents broke up and she moved with her siblings, mother and her mother's new partner, Foreigner guitarist Mick Jones, to New York City, with her mother later marrying Jones. She is the daughter of writer-socialite Ann Dexter-Jones and music executive and real estate entrepreneur Laurence Ronson. Her parents are of Ashkenazi Jewish descent, with ancestors from Russia, Lithuania and Austria. Ronson's family name was originally Aaronson but her grandfather Henry Ronson changed it to Ronson.
