She has played characters of various ethnic origins: Polynesian in Rapa Nui (1994); Chinese in the telemovie and subsequent TV show Once a Thief (by John Woo, based on his Once a Thief Hong Kong movie); Native American as Annuka in Black Robe and Pocahontas in Pocahontas: The Legend; Japanese in the film 1999; and as a Latina reporter in 2004's Resident Evil: Apocalypse.
