Sometimes they are also called Carska planina ("Tzar`s mountain"), as a reference to the capitals (Prizren and Skopje), courts (Nerodimlje, Pauni, Svrčin, etc.) and monasteries (Sveti Arhangeli) of Serbian Tsardom located around them.
