Vujačić began his professional career at the age of 16, playing with Snaidero Udine of Italy. His father Vaso Vujačić is a Serbian basketball coach.
Vujačić was also a member of the Slovenian junior national team. He was drafted by the Los Angeles Lakers with the 27th overall pick in the 2004 NBA Draft.
